Meet several of our graduates who overcame obstacles, seized opportunities and stand ready to tackle new challenges with their TU bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees.

Being Doc has been an experience of a lifetime. You’re always the life of the party. Everyone is always excited to see you and you get to make peoples’ day better with such a small interaction. All of the close games, fan hugs, high fives and energy the fans have given me, it was a rush of emotion every time that I never took for granted.

White is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in sport management with a minor in business administration. He engaged with the TU community as the university’s mascot Doc for three years. 

Jazmin Sharp

Jazmin Sharp

Being a part of Hill-Lopes itself has been the highlight of my time here. The program gave me a sense of belonging, a strong support system and a space where I felt seen. It reminded me that I could lead, grow and thrive here.

Sharp is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics with a concentration in Applied Mathematics. She was the president of , a student organization focused on supporting women of color in tech, and was involved in the Hill-Lopes Scholars Program, Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation and worked as a tutor and undergraduate learning assistant.

Maya Tucker

I cannot believe I’m graduating. They did not lie when they said time flies by. This accomplishment means a lot to me because I have put in so much time and work to get my degree. This degree is not only mine but all the family and support system that has been with me along my journey.

Tucker is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in exercise science. During her time on , Tucker broke the program record at the Towson Spring Open with the fastest time in program history (11.38).

Aaron Kirzner

Aaron Kirzner

I started my undergraduate career at FSU in the fall of 1998. I was entirely too young and not ready to pursue my college degree at that time. Now, a short 26 1/2 years later, I’m graduating as an outstanding CBE graduate. It really makes me appreciate how, as one of my professors put it, ‘It’s not important when you cross the finish line, just that you eventually cross it.

Kirzner is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. His service in the U.S. Army eventually led him to TU where he served as a peer support specialist at the Military and Veterans Center on campus. Kirzner will start CBE’s economic analytics master’s program in the fall and hopes to become a TU faculty member.

Graduation represents the culmination of the years of hard work that I have invested toward growing myself personally and intellectually; it marks the beginning of my lifelong process of learning and improving, so that I can best serve my field, community and the broader public good. Graduating makes me hopeful and excited about what is to come!

Golemboski is graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in international studies, and a double minor in political science and Spanish. At TU she was the program manager for Towson University-Baltimore County Public Schools Model UN, a Writing Center fellow, a Civic Renewal fellow and an Admissions student ambassador.

Omolemo Matloga

Omolemo Matloga

Being the last born in my family, I am the only one who was born after the South African Apartheid regime, and I had a big opportunity and responsibility to take advantage of the education and travel experiences that my family were denied. This accomplishment not only means the world to me but also my family and neighborhood. We truly used to pray for times like this

Matloga is graduating with a doctoral degree in occupational therapy. She plans build and establish a business in South Africa that will expand OT services to populations that need mobility and accessibility services.

April Jones 

COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

April Jones

It feels almost surreal to be graduating. When I started in spring 2023, I did not know what to expect but somehow the experience exceeded all expectations. I can’t believe my M.Ed. journey is complete and that I did it all while working a full-time job. This accomplishment means that I can handle anything and can achieve goals with drive and the correct support system.

Jones is graduating with a master’s degree in education and plans to apply her research experience at TU to her leadership position in early childhood education. She hopes to eventually work in academia or at an educational research institute where she can continue to research.

Theory Appiah

Being part of Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity was one of the most impactful parts of my college experience. It connected me with a community of driven, like-minded individuals who were all focused on personal and professional growth. Through the fraternity, I developed strong leadership skills and expanded my network.

Appiah is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a concentration in entrepreneurship and a minor in marketing. While at TU he interned at the StarTUp and started his own clothing brand.

Angel Soriano Lara 

College OF FINE ARTS AND COMMUNICATION

Angel Soriano-Lara

Music is an outlet that can be used to share, learn and express our identities, emotions and cultures in ways that other academic subjects simply cannot. It has allowed me to explore my identity as a person, scholar, musician and now educator through unique experiences and connections with people. I can only hope to inspire and change people's lives with it through performance, education and connection.

Soriano-Lara is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in music education with a concentration in instrumental music. He was an alto saxophonist in the TU Marching Band and held the principal alto saxophone chair in the TU Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band, lead alto saxophone chair in the TU Jazz Orchestra and soprano saxophone chair in TU’s saxophone quartet, Tigris.

Emily Francis 

College of EDUCATION

Emily Francis

I chose my major after being a part of the speech-language pathology and audiology program and realized how much I wanted to work with children. I had amazing teachers who all graduated from TU, and I knew I was already at the best university to become an educator. TU has empowered and prepared me to be ready for my own class and to meet the needs of my own students next year.

Francis is graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education with a dual concentration in early childhood education. Upon graduating, she will teach full time in Baltimore County Public Schools.

I didn’t initially know what I wanted from a university. TU was where my brother went, and I admired him so much that I only applied here. Once I arrived, I met amazing people. Joining SGA felt like finding a community of people like me. I finished my third and final year as the deputy chief of staff [in 2025] and through it learned to communicate more effectively and to separate personal life from work.

Odusanya is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in information technology, was the vice president of the and on the TU Homecoming Court.

I am looking forward to pursuing my future and I don't know that I would be in this same position without the experiences and knowledge I gained here at Towson University.

Hackerman is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in psychology with minors in family science and Jewish studies. She is a fourth generation Tiger and her commencement will mark 100 years since her great-grandfather's commencement from the .
