Being a part of TU’s community unlocks access to streaming services, sports games, special concerts and more. Here are some of the reasons it’s good to be a Tiger.
Studio space, technology and equipment rentals
Bring your academic and creative visions to life using TU’s tools and technology, including studio space and a full inventory of cameras, microphones, lighting and more available to rent for free. You can also access LinkedIn Learning tutorials to expand your skills for using the technology and get a WordPress site to showcase academic and professional work. Faculty can access 3D printers, virtual reality and drones to explore emerging technologies for instruction. Students can access laptop services and students, faculty and staff can download Microsoft apps on up to five devices for free, plus access support and special pricing programs for buying personal computers.
Dining and retail discounts
Free delivery? Yes, please. All TU students, faculty and staff are eligible for a , which offers $0 delivery fees and lower service fees on orders of $12 or more from a wide range of off-campus restaurants, plus GrubHub credits on off-campus pick-up orders and other exclusive deals. (Psst: It’s also how you access TU’s food delivery robots!) To create your free account, download the GrubHub app, locate TU under Account>Campus Dining and enter your TU email and OneCard number.
If you’re on campus, check out Tiger Meal deals at all campus retail locations and show your OneCard at the University Store for 5% off all purchases for students and 15% for faculty and staff. Faculty and staff can also eat in the Newell, Glen or West Village dining hall for .
Streaming service, bestsellers and brain breaks
Cook Library is best known as TU’s hub for , but its brain break game is also strong. The library offers students, faculty and staff free access to , where you can stream hundreds of award-winning documentaries and films. You can also borrow bestselling books, cookbooks, manga and more; busy bags with games and robotic therapy cats that help you unwind and de-stress. Or if you’re looking to up your research skills, check out their on topics ranging from data analysis to AI.
Pickleball, paddleboards, kayaking and massage
Students, faculty and staff can access state-of-the-art fitness equipment, group fitness, classes, a climbing wall and open sessions for sports ranging from futsal to pickleball for free through Campus Rec. Equipment for a dozen sports, including ping pong, basketball, soccer and frisbee, is also available for free. Adventurous students, faculty and staff can rent snowboards, paddleboards, tents and a variety of other adventure gear at a low cost or join instructor-led rock climbing, kayaking and camping trips for less than $25. Recover afterward with free massage chairs and massage tools to ease your tired muscles.
Access to a world-class planetarium
TU students, faculty and staff can take a free journey into space at public shows held on the first and third Friday of every month during the academic year. Meet in Science Complex room 2206 for shows exploring Mars, voyaging through the university and more. After the show, you can view the night sky from the building’s rooftop telescope (when weather permits). The all-digital planetarium also allows you to view the university from anywhere on Earth or from any vantage point in space.
Game tickets and Under Armour discounts
TU students get a free ticket to the more than 150 Tiger home games each year. To enter ticketed sports—football, volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, gymnastics and men’s lacrosse—for free, simply show your OneCard at the gate, where you can also purchase reduced-rate companion tickets. Faculty and staff can reserve two complimentary tickets to home games by emailing 4tigertix AT_TOWSON at least 24 hours before game time or gain entrance the day of by showing their OneCards at the gate.
Tigers also get a 25% discount on Under Armour gear thanks to their partnership with Towson University Athletics. Unlock access by using the special to create an account with Under Armour.
Top-notch art, music and dance
TU’s Center for the Arts is home to three publicly available galleries displaying top-notch works by artists across the globe. This fall, the Holtzman Gallery is featuring a large installation of sculptural textiles by Brooklyn artist Etty Yaniv that evoke the sea, while the Center for the Arts Gallery is showing an exhibition of multimedia art by 2024 Guggenheim Fellow Gina Osterloh that plays with expectations of depth and spatial continuity. Both are open and free to browse from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays through October. Students, faculty and staff are also invited to a range of concerts, plays and performances, which this year will include a Chekov play, a concert by Grammy-nominated pianist Mike Holober and a Latin American arts festival with more than a dozen events. Students can access a limited number of free tickets by visiting the Center for the Arts box office one hour before the event and showing their OneCards.
